Project Overview

For one of my Themed Entertainment Design classes at SCAD, we had to design a dark ride that leads to a retail space or restaurant. I worked in a group and our team wanted to design this attraction based off of H.P. Lovecraft’s short story, Call of Cthulhu. One of the constraints was that we had to use the exterior wall outline of an already existing building in Sochi Park. My group members were Nicolette Culver, Alex Szabo, Gianfranco Ricci, Mica Peleg, and Noah Samors, and together we created Rise of Cthulhu.

Stage: Blue Sky & Concept

Project Duration: 10 Weeks

My Role

I was the architect and one of the concept designers in this project. I conceptualized ideas for the attraction and designed the master plan and layout of both the attraction and retail space. I also set dressed the different areas of the queue line, design shelving, and display cases for the retail area.

My Deliverables

Drawings of the masterplan, pathway plan, and sectioned plan of the attraction and retail space

Drawings of the shelving and display cases, including their perspective drawings for the retail space
